Let’s Play Slay The Spire – Ironclad Gameplay Walkthrough

Welcome to Slay The Spire from Mega Crit Games. We have a unique blend of rogue-like, deck building, turn-based RPG combat – and it’s one of the most fun games I’ve played in a quite a while! Think of Slay The Spire gameplay as something like Hearthstone meets Darkest Dungeon.

Slay The Spire steam description:
“In Slay The Spire game, we fused card games and roguelikes together to make the best single player deckbuilder we could. Craft a unique deck, encounter bizarre creatures, discover relics of immense power, and Slay the Spire”

We battle our way onward through Act 2 of Slay The Spire on our Ironclad run! I love the cool encounters, like the Ominous Forge, or the Addicted. I got the coolest rare card – Demon Form!!
I am starting to rely heavily on relics to help bail me out, like Blood Vial. But I have some cool cards too, like Flame Barrier, Armaments, and definitely Demon Form!!
The Act 2 boss may be The Champ, but I doubt he’ll remain the champ for long!

  1. 7:00 You should have used Barricade and built up a lot of defense to cancel thorns.

28:35 That was a perfect opportunity to use Barricade. You could have taken way less damage in that fight.

Advice, Metallicize and Barricade go really well together. I was getting 12 perma-blocks per turn witth that. At some point I had 99 block and it maxed out, effectively breaking the game balance.
