  1. It’s too late for that, the game is too far gone. There seems to be a trend of developers trying to nudge players along the way. The best games, IMO, are ones in which the devs create something and let the players figure out how to overcome it. I mean, they even tell you how to fucking down bosses now. No need to look up encounters or try new strategies, everything is fucking streamlined and your hand his held by daddy Blizzard the entire time.

  2. Yes, less than 1% of players on retail even stepped into Naxxramas. I just hate how the game went from an epic RPG to a fucking dungeon crawler.

  3. I’m embarrassed to say that the ending made me cry a bit. I don’t play wow anymore but it was a huge part of my teenage life. To see it like this is disheartening. I recently leveled another toon and realized that I never had to socialize with anyone. I feel that forced interaction is truly important to mmos. I would love to play wow again but it just isn’t as magical as it use to be for me.

  4. As a day one wow player I feel the very same way, thanks for a great video. It’s kinda sad seeing a game that made such an influence on alot of people including myself going in the worng direction.

  5. Yes, just yes. Did you spam the blizz forums with this gold? The last few minutes are what makes your video shine.

  6. The Dungeon Finder was good, until it went cross-server.

I’d occasionally find good players, and add them 😛

  7. “Not a fad”

“Mr T and Chuck Norris in trailers”

…yeah, I never liked those trailers.

  8. There are several hundred-if not thousand- private servers with a big amount of people playing Vanilla, TBC or WotLK.

  9. I feel you man. I was a heavy wow player in vanilla and tbc and recently tried it again and it just isn’t the same experience. I remember loving leveling. It took a long time but wasn’t tedious. When things move slower you take a look around. I remember Feralas as one of the most beautiful zones in wow, now when i leveled my new char i just rushed through it. Unwillingly. This wouldn’t be so bad if endgame was very good, but like you say: menu’s and antisocial gameplay instead of a community…

  10. GREATEST MMO EVER WAS GW1 WON ALL PRIZES 3 YEARS AT ROW YEA DEAL WHIT IT WOW IS GREAT BUT IT CHANGED TO CHEESI NOOB LIKE GAME WHIT NO HEART SO SORY IM WAS ONE OF THE 25% WHO STOP PLAYED AND BTW BY NOW NOTHER 2 MILS STOPED ::: AND IT IS NOT EVEN LAST PATCH KID WILL BUY THE CHEEASI GAME BUT WILL NOT PLAY AND LOVE IT

  11. Part of the issue is Blizzard’s made it more difficult for high-level chars to assist low-level chars. Removal of spell ranks from Spellbook means I can’t provide food & water to lowbies. Used to be able to cast Arcane Intellect on mana-users no matter their level b/c the game would auto-down rank to appropriate rank – now it’s just flat min level restriction. & then there’s CRZ. If I have an item that I want to give to someone who can use it, 99% time I can’t b/c they’re on a diff server. 🙁

  12. Begun in vanilla and stoped in cata (i’m a mage playinh mage-rog… fk cc nerf!)… Stoped cause of changes, but re-played in mop. Wow is the best game ever, even re-bad-worked, so why don’t play?? just… playing less 😉

  13. Preach brotha… preach. Every single said in this video was true, love this. Honestly i havnt played wow in months, but i have been subscribed and an off and on active player since vanilla… this kinda touched my heart man haha. Hopefully someone high up on the blizzard tree of important bullshit patches and ideas watches this and has a change of heart. Props to you for this vid and speakin your mind. ULDUAR (April 14, 2009 – Cata) :/

  14. a lot of people hate on this game…and I’m guilty of it to. but it’s true. this really was an amazing game. and I had a blast playing it. but the community recently has just been horrible. and very unfriendly to new players.

  15. I just started a year ago, I always knew about it and many of my friends played it and I was a much bigger gamer back then, but I eventually decided, why not, its still going and the MOP exp looked good, roughly it took me maybe 5 months to get to 90, and 2 to 3 more months to get 500 gear, point being through all of this I missed out on a lot, I’ve yet to finish Uldar, Death wing, among others, Epic ones, LFR doesn’t kick in till 85, so I missed tons of raids, People leave and it fails.

  16. TheKephas, you dont have enough likes! This video explains the game perfectly. And seeing other MMO creators doing the same thing that Blizzard has is just sad. It’s like WoW has become a mold for all new MMO’s and I think that the gaming market really needs some innovation. All these menus just take away all the fun gameplay. I honestly want game developers to rethink their whole strategy around the games they make. This game was good, now it is… not so good.
